What is GLOBE?

You should now have a general idea of what the GLOBE project is all about.

You are going to watch a video that explains the objectives and contents of the programme.

These are the questions you will need to answer:

1. What kind of skills do the GLOBE’s hands-on activities develop?

2. Is the GLOBE programme only targeted to secondary school students?

3. What does Dr. Ralph K. Coppola say about students participating in the GLOBE project?

4. What type of local measurements are taken? (Name at least three of them)

5. Why is the data collected by students important for scientists?

6. Is there any interaction among scientists and students?

7. Do GLOBE students only learn about Science?

Now go back to News and Events, scroll down to Ongoing Events and click on GLOBE videos.

Look for GLOBE Program Overview – Full Version and select View under Windows Media Player.

Answer the questions above. (You may want to play it a second time if you do not get all the answers the first time.)
